Rod Cameron Marries His Mother-in-Law

Nathan Roderick Cox was born Canada in 1910, and later, under the name of Rod Cameron, forged a name for himself as a Western actor. Though he remained a bit actor, he made big headlines for a personal affair in 1954.

On December 7, 1950, Rod Cameron married Angela Alves-Lico. Cameron was 38; Alves-Lico was 22.

By April 28, 1954, papers were reporting that Cameron and Alves-Lico had separated.

Also in 1954, Cameron moved in with his mother-in-law, Mrs. Antonio (Dorothy) Alves-Lico. Yes, that would be his wife’s mother, who was “letting him stay there until he can rent his own apartment.”

Mrs. Alves-Lico would have been 47 years old. She later reverted to her birth name, Dorothy Eveleigh. Cameron married his former mother-in-law in 1960.

On the topic, Angela Alves-Lico (Cameron) didn’t have much to discuss, quoted only saying: “It happened some time ago. I talk to my mother occasionally, but we never discuss Rod.”

The two remained married until 1983, when Cameron died. She would die in 2001, in Atlanta, Georgia.
